A series of workshops by European scientists was carried out prior to the IV International Scientific Conference “FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT TO RESOURCE RECOVERY” held at PNRPU in early December. The series included lectures on the following topics:

• «Production and utilization of RDF», Lecturer — Dr. Johann Fellner, Vienna Technical University (Austria);
• «The management of sewage sludge in Germany», Lecturer — Dr. Christoph Wünsch, Dresden Technical University (Germany).

     The audience of the workshops included conference participants, students and teachers of the Perm Polytechnic University. Each lecture ended with a discussion during which scientists answered questions from the audience. Next year, the collaboration between Dr. Fellner and Dr. Wünsch with the Department of Environmental Protection of PNRPU will be continued.
