The first machine for the reception of secondary raw materials called "Sortomat" was installed at the Department of Environmental Protection of the Perm Polytechnic University. Sortomat had been designed and manufactured within the framework of the international project "Development of smart collection system for secondary raw materials".

     So far, the first Sortomat accepts only plastic bottles marked with “1” (usually the mark is placed on the bottom of the bottle).

     In the future, Sortomat will accept aluminum cans and plastic bottles marked with “2” and “5”.
